BEE GONE & CCD
Estimates say over 99% of all spray hits a non target area. Translated it means that 99% is pure pollution. Sure excedes other industry pollution standards.
I became alarmed when i realized that all my "beeloved" & openly welcomed bees & fireflies have vanished. My gardens polination has dropped drasticaly. We are surrounded by genetically modified grainfields that are now able to be completely covered by a blanket of herbicide, apparently without damaging the grain crop.Remember water won't kill bees.Sprays evidently will.At the risk of sounding cruel,I came up with the following grassroot test because governments are inherantly slow & science has its hands tied & its feet entangled in excessive red tape.Bees do not have the luxury of time for that.
Use a butterfly net to catch the test bee or insect with.Buy a sink drain screen ( about $1.50) or a seive to place the test subject under on a flat surface. If you can't test wasps & bees without getting stung,DONT TEST,some people are allergic to stings.Use the spray you want to test.Take notes; time of day, temp, insect & its reaction.Share the information with everyone.
My tests involved 2 smaller bees gathered 11 miles away from home & used the premixed home version of the spray farmers around me spray. The first bee tested had a small container in the bottom. When sprayed the first bee crawled around for about 34 seconds & then collapsed into a droplet in the container, dying in a few seconds & was accompanied by an abdomen color change. Total time lapse of spray until death was 37 seconds.
The second bee was on a flat surface when it was misted. In 53 seconds it was on its back in convulsions. At 6 minutes the movements became uncordinated. At 8 minutes minutes only the abdomin was twiching quickly. At 56 minutes the abdomin twitching was far less noticable. After aproximately 4 hours all movement ceased.
